Reykjavik - The Icelandic low-cost carrier WOW Air will launch a new route between Reykjavik and Vancouver next summer.

Vancouver will be the third destination of the airline in Canada after Montreal and Toronto and the first in the Western coast of the country.

From June 6, 2019, the Icelandic flight specialist will carry out six flights a week between its base in Reykjavik-Keflavik and Vancouver International Airport.

The route will be operated by an Airbus A321neo configured to accommodate 220 passengers. Departures are scheduled daily except Saturday. The flight will take off at 5:20 pm and land in Vancouver at 6:15 pm the same day. Return flights will leave Canada at 7:30 pm and land at the Reykjavik-Keflavik next day at 10:05 am.

WOW Air will compete on this route with Icelandair who has been operating the line since 2014.

We are excited to expand our list of destinations by including Canada's west coast,
said SkĂșli Mogensen, CEO, and the founder of WOW air.
