Wizz Air receives first Airbus A321neo


Hamburg - The Hungarian low-cost airline operator Wizz Air has received its first of 184 A321neo jets on order at Hamburg-Finkenwerder facilities of Airbus.

The revamped single-aisle of the European manufacturer is powered by two new generation Pratt & Whitney Geared turbofans and is the widest single-aisle in the market with 239 seats in a single class configuration.

Wizz Air is an all-Airbus airline, with more than 100 A320 Family aircraft in its fleet. The company expects 261 more Airbus jets, including 183 A321neo, 72 A320neo, and five A321-200.

Wizz Air already operates 72 Airbus A320-200 and 36 A321-200 mostly on routes to European destinations.

A321neo is the largest member of the Airbus's best selling new generation A320neo family jets, which accumulated 6,500 orders from over 100 customers around the world since its launch in 2010.
