Montreal, Canada - Air Canada Express flight from Montreal to Bagotville was forced to return to Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport after one of the two wheels on the left main landing gear fell off shortly after takeoff.
The Bombardier Dash 8-300 aircraft is equipped with six tires two on the right landing gear, two more on the left and two on the nose of the plane.
In video footage shared on a passenger's social media account, flames can be observed on one of the tires before it falls off in seconds after takeoff.
Another passenger can be heard saying: "It fell, it fell!"

The incident happened on Jan 3rd. The Dash 8-300, operated by Jazz Aviation, was carrying 49 passengers and three crew members. No injuries reported.
The aircraft circled in the air to burn fuel before returning to Montreal. Emergency crews were ready to intervene on the runway when the aircraft landed if something unexpected happens.
The Dash 8-300 underwent inspection to determine the cause of the incident and what repairs are required to return the aircraft to the service.
The experienced pilots maintained complete control of the aircraft.Our pilots are well trained to deal with such situations and responded according to our standard operating procedures,” said Jazz Aviation spokesperson Manon Stuart in an email statement.
Another aircraft was dispatched to Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport to fly the passengers to Bagotville.
