Vietnam Airlines leases two Airbus A320neo from ALC

Los Angeles, California - Today, the Los Angeles-based aircraft leasing company ALC announced long-term lease contracts with Vietnam Airlines for two Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The Vietnamese flag carrier will take delivery of both aircraft in the last quarter of 2020 from the order book of Air Lease Corporation with the European aircraft manufacturer.

We are pleased to announce another important transaction with our long-time loyal customer, Vietnam Airlines, for two A320-200neo aircraft, said Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman at ALC.

ALC has played an instrumental role supporting Vietnam Airlines’ ongoing fleet expansion goals since 2010 and we are thrilled to continue to build upon our relationship with one of the fastest-growing airlines in Asia.

Vietnam Airlines currently operates two Airbus A330-200 and six A321neo leased from Air Lease Corporation.

In addition to the recent order for two Airbus A320neo, The Asian carrier will also take delivery of six A321neo and eight Boeing 787-10 between 2019 and 2021 from the American lessor.

Vietnam Airlines is also planning to place a mega order for 50 to 100 single-aisle jets to expand its narroxbody fleet. If this plan is approved by the Vietnamese government the state-run carrier will take delivery of the ordered jets between 2020 and 2030.

The company looks at Airbus's A320neo and Boeing's 737 MAX for its upcoming order.
