Mojave, California - On July 26, Virgin Galatic made its third rocket-powered test flight for the VSS Unity to realize its long-fought dream of carrying passengers on a suborbital ride into space.

No date has yet been given as to when commercial flights will begin, but this third rocket-powered flight is showing the company is on the final stage of achieving that goal.

VSS Unity motor burned for 31 seconds for this flight and propelled the vehicle to a speed of Mach 1.9 and an altitude of 114,500 ft.
