UIA expands its long-haul fleet with a 777-200ER


Kiev - On Feb 16, 2018, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) expanded its long-haul fleet with a Boeing 777-200ER.

The press service of the Kiev-based airline operator reported that the plane is enrolled in Ukraine as UR-GOA. UIA will configure the new 777-200ER with 361 seats in three classes, Business, Premium, and Economy.

The aircraft will be operated on long-haul routes of the company to New York, Beijing, and Bangkok. The 777-200ER is leased from Irish leasing company, AerCap. It comes with a modern on-board personal entertainment system made by Panasonic Corporation.

Particularly, monitors with an expanded content menu are set up in the rear of every seat, which includes a big selection of movies, music, and video games.

Movies made in Ukraine is going to be presented to passengers of Boeing 777 in order to popularize Ukrainian film industry. The content is available in four languages: Ukrainian, English, Chinese and Russian.

Boeing 777 seats are equipped with sockets and USB modules for recharging electronic devices. All three classes have a modern Sky Interior lighting system manufactured by Bruce Aerospace.

This delivery is the first step of the growth program of the UIA's long-haul fleet. Another three will arrive at the 1st and 3rd quarters of 2018, said the Ukrainian carrier.
