Copenhagen - Thomas Cook Scandinavia becomes the first charter customer of the Hi Fly's A380. Yesterday, the superjumbo carried out a charter flight on behalf of Thomas Cook Scandinavia between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Larnaca, Cyprus.

The Portuguese carrier Hi Fly is the first airline to acquire the A380 on the secondhand market. But the most significant thing about this acquisition is that the wet lease company is the first charter airline having a superjumbo.

The aircraft is the first of two former SIA A380 ordered by Hi Fly, which were returned to the German lessor Dr. Peters Group this year at the end of their lease terms.

Hi Fly received the first superjumbo in June and displayed it at Farnborough Air Show last month. The livery of the plane attributed to the prevention of Coral Reefs took attention of many during the fair.

HiFly’s A380 has the same cabin layout that Singapore Airlines has on its A380s, with a total of 471 seats - 12 in first class, 60 in business class, and 399 in the economy.
