Moscow - Irkut Corporation completed the construction of the second MC-21-300 aircraft, which is intended for the second phase of flight testing. The testing results accumulated from the first test aircraft were taken into account in the production of the second prototype.

On March 25, the second MC-21-300 was transferred from the final assembly line at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant to the flight test department.

The completion of the second aircraft is an important milestone in the certification process of the MC-21 program. Including new devices to flight testing this year will help us complete the key tasks of the project such as successful completion of the certification campaign, launching mass production and delivering the first airliners to the customers,
said Denis Manturov the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade.

In total, four MC-21-300 aircraft will be involved in flight tests.

The fuselage of the third MC-21-300 has already been assembled, and the components of the fourth aircraft are also being assembled.
