Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa joint venture had signed a wet-lease agreement with Vilnius-based Avion Express for five Airbus A320 for the summer of 2018.

The airline has increased this number to 11 this year.

Avion Express is the largest single-aisle aircraft leasing and charter operator in the world.

The first aircraft registered LY-VEB arrived in Antalya.

All wet-leased A320s will begin operations with the Antalya-based low-cost leisure carrier by the end of June.

Antalya is a popular tourist destination for Europeans. The addition of the six wet-leased Airbus A320 will bring SunExpress' fleet to 84 aircraft.

All-Boeing operator SunExpress has been leasing additional planes (Airbus A320) since last year to meet the increasing demand in the summer season.

This summer SunExpress is offering 3.7 million seats from Turkish tourism hotspot Antalya.

The airline flies to more than 50 destinations in Europe including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Romania, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
