Miramar, Florida, - The US ultra-low-cost operator Spirit Airlines considers adding more Airbus A320 to its fleet to achieve its double-digit growth target in 2020.
The airline is reportedly in talks with lessors to lease up to seven Airbus A320 jets next year.
The all-Airbus operator Spirit Airlines currently has 140 A320 family jets in its fleet of which 15 are new generation A320neo jets.
The carrier has 53 Airbus A320neo more on order. If Spirit's plan to lease eight A320 jets materializes, the number of planes in the fleet will reach to 168 next year, including the 21 new A320neo expected.
In the third quarter of this year, Spirit arranged leases for two A320ceos and 11 A320neos.
