Stockholm - Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) leases five Airbus A320neo from the Kuwaiti lessor ALAFCO. The Scandinavian carrier will lease the airplanes for five years. The first device will be delivered in April 2019.

SAS already operates 22 A320neo. The company expects to receive 58 aircraft of the same type by the end of 2023. Airbus's re-engineered single-aisles are intended to replace the Boeing 737s in the Scandinavian's fleet.

The Group currently operates 65 Boeing 737NG. The last Boeing 737 will leave the SAS in five years, and the airline will operate an all-Airbus fleet.

The A320neos are not only intended for flights from Sweden. For instance, six aircraft will be stationed at London Heathrow, and three in Malaga, Spain from 2019.

Kuwaiti ALAFCO is relatively a small leasing company, with a total fleet of 62 aircraft that are employed by twenty airlines in thirteen countries. The company has 87 aircraft on order at Airbus and Boeing.
