Toulouse - The first Airbus A350-900 ordered by the evelop has appeared out of the paint shop in Toulouse with the airline's colors. Envelopes A350-900 will enter into service in May this year on routes from Madrid to Cancun, Havana and Punta Cana.
On February 12, Airbus revealed images of the first and for the moment the only Airbus A350-900 (MSN293) of the Spanish charter operator. The engines of the company's new widebody were also installed.
evelop did not reveal the cabin configuration yet. The airline is expected to deploy its A350neo on three transatlantic routes from its base in Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport - Havana-José Marti airport from May 1st, with two weekly rotations, to Cancun from May 3rd with the same pace then to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic from the next day.
The Spanish company plans to include a second Airbus A350 in its fleet next year. It's not known whether the airline proceeds to buy or lease the plane.
Founded in 2013 as a charter operator, evelop also offers flights to Mauritius and Lisbon in addition to the three destinations mentioned above. It regularly sublets its aircraft to other carriers, as in the case of Avianca, which used one of its A330-300s between Cali and Madrid last spring.
