Hamburg - Air Transat's first Airbus A321LR was spotted at manufacturer's Hamburg plant while conducting its taxi tests.
The aircraft has already its CFM International LEAP-1A engines installed and ground tests have started. The aircraft is expected to join the Canadian airline's fleet next month.
With this delivery, Air Transat will become the first carrier to operate an Airbus A321LR in North America.
The company placed an order for 15 Airbus A321LR on July 11, 2017. The planes will be delivered from the order book of the Irish leasing company AerCap.
The new planes will replace the aging Airbus A310-300s in the Canadian operator's fleet.
