Toulouse – SAS Scandinavian Airlines will acquire one more A330-300 to replace one of its A340s and standardize its long-haul fleet. The new A330 will join the fleet in the second quarter of 2019.

SAS is an "all Airbus" carrier with 57 aircraft in the fleet: eight A340, eight A330, and 41 A320 Family aircraft).

The order comes just a few days after SAS's agreement with Airbus for 50 A320neos to renew its short-haul fleet.

The A330 is an ideal widebody aircraft for growing low-cost long-haul operations business model. With its operational reliability of 99.4 percent and numerous product improvements, the A330 Family is the most cost-efficient widebody aircraft in its class.

To date, the A330 Family has received over 1,700 orders, making it the world’s best-selling wide-body aircraft in its market segment.

More than 1,350 A330 Family aircraft are in service 110 worldwide.
