MIAT Mongolian Airlines signs for a Boeing 787-9

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - MIAT Mongolian has signed a long-term lease agreement for one Boeing 787-9.

MIAT will lease its first Boeing 787-9 from the American lessor Air Lease Corporation. The aircraft is expected to join the airline's fleet in 2021 and will be used for the Mongolian flag carrier's inaugural flight to the United States.

It will be configured to accommodate 313 passengers - 16 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 276 in economy.

MIAT currently operates two Boeing 767-300ER and four Boeing 737-800.

The Asian operator also has three 737 MAX 8 on order. One already delivered an is grounded like the all other 737 MAXs across the world.
