Frankfurt - On September 3, the German airline operator Lufthansa took delivery of its thirteenth Airbus A320neo.
The A320neo registered DAINM took off from Airbus' Hamburg -Finkenwerder factory and landed at Berlin-Schönefeld airport at 3:00 PM local.
The new single-aisle christened "Freising" can accommodate up to 180 passengers. It is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney PW1127G engines. The aircraft will be deployed on Lufthansa's leading domestic and regional routes.
The arrival of the new device brings the number of the A320neos in the airline's fleet to thirteen. It is the third A320neo delivered to the German carrier since the beginning of the year. Being the first airline to launch operations with A320neo in January 2016, Lufthansa welcomes the significant reduction in CO2 emission and noise footprint.
On May 28, 2018, the company confirmed the option to purchase six additional Airbus A320neo from its previous order bringing its order book to 122 A320neo family aircraft, including 77 A320neo and 45 A321neo.
The group also signed an order for three more A320ceo, increasing the A320ceo family order to 273 aircraft.
With a total of 395 A320 family aircraft, the Lufthansa Group is the largest Airbus A320 operator in the world.
