Frankfurt - Lufthansa exercises options on six more A320neo and three A320ceo. The airline is the largest client of the A320 family with 400 aircraft in the fleet, and 395 in the order book.

The open orders split into 77 A320neo and 45 A321neo and 273 A320ceo. In 2019, Airbus will deliver 23 A320neos to the German flag carrier.

The airline wants to compensate the possible delivery delays in the A320neo program with the A320ceo.

Unfortunately, deliveries of the A320neo have changed a lot in the past, so we plan to use the A320ceos we have ordered later this year to have more flexibility in the future,
says Jörg Hennemann, Senior Vice President of Commercial Fleet Management at Lufthansa.
