Lufthansa Group confirms its order for two Boeing 777F

Cologne - The board of directors of the Lufthansa Group confirmed the order announced last May for two additional Boeing 777F for Lufthansa Cargo.

Both aircraft are expected to be delivered in February and May 2019 respectively. In the longer term, they will replace two MD-11F of twelve that are currently in service.

Because the air freight market is doing well at the time being, Lufthansa Cargo will keep some of the MD-11Fs designated for retirement to maintain its current cargo capacity as needed.

This major investment in the future of Lufthansa Cargo has been made possible by last year’s outstanding results. This is a fitting reward for the tremendous efforts of all Lufthansa Cargo employees and emphasizes that we have taken the right course at an early stage,
Peter Gerber said, the CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.

The Lufthansa Group subsidiary operates five 777F.
