Irish lessor Avolon orders 75 Airbus A320neo and and 25 A321LR

Dublin - The leasing company Avolon confirmed its order for 75 A320neo and 25 A321neo. This is the largest order volume ever placed with Airbus by Avolon.

This new order announced on December 7 brings Avolon's order book to 265 (220 single-aisle and 45 widebody) aircraft with Airbus. Seventy-five devices are for the standard variant A320neo and 25 for the long-range version A321LR.

Our order for 100 A320neo family aircraft builds on our leading industry position and reflects our ambition to become the global leader in the sector. We continue to see robust demand from our customers for the A320neo family globally,
said Avolon CEO Domhnal Slattery.

The contract is valued at $11,5 billion at list prices, but double-digit percentage discounts are common in the industry for high-volume orders.

The Airbus A320neo family is the new fuel-efficient re-launch of the Airbus A320 medium-haul jet and Airbus' best seller model. Due to the high demand, the manufacturer continues to expand its production. The deliveries to Avolon will begin in 2023.

Avolon was founded in Dublin, Ireland in 2010. So far, the company had an owned, managed and committed fleet of 890 aircraft valued at over $40 billion.
