Irish leasing company Aercap orders 50 A320neo
Dublin - The Irish leasing company Aercap wants to buy more medium-haul aircraft from Airbus. The order makes the company the largest lessor of the A320neo.
The Irish aircraft leasing company buys 50 more Airbus A320neo. Aercap converts options that it had secured under an existing order signed by two companies. The deliveries are expected to start from 2022.
The order has a value of $ 5.4 billion at list price, but high discounts are common for such large orders in the industry.
As of the end of November, Airbus recorded 5,254 firm orders for the A320neo family, including 51 for the A319neo, 3,691 for the A320neo and 1,512 for the A321neo.
Aercap is Airbus' largest leasing company for short-haul and medium-haul aircraft. Overall, the fleet of A320 family aircraft of the Aercap increases to 270, including orders.
AerCap's portfolio consisted of 1,506 aircraft owned, under management or on order. The company has approximately 200 customers in 80 countries.
