First Boeing 787-9 of Turkish Airlines makes its maiden flight

Everett, Seattle - The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for Turkish Airlines carried out its maiden flight on June 12. A video was published on social media by a local spotter.

The aircraft registered TC-LLA will be delivered to the Turkish flag carrier this summer. The airline has 25 Boeing 787-9 on order with the US planemaker.

The last Dreamliner will join the airline's fleet in 2022. The new Dreamliners of the company are intended to replace the older generation Airbus A330s in the fleet.

Turkish Airlines will initially deploy its first Boeing 787-9 on Istanbul - Antalya route for crew training purposes, which will be followed by routes from Istanbul to Boston, New York-JFK, Washington DC, Montreal, Caracas, Havana, and Cape Town.
