Toulouse - Airbus has completed the construction of the first A330-900 for Lion Air. The aircraft will undergo a few tests before delivery.
Indonesia's Lion Air expects to receive its first Airbus A330neo in a few weeks.
The airline has ordered a total of ten Airbus A330-900. The cabin configuration of the Asian carrier's new widebody still remains unknown. The company currently operates three previous generation Airbus A330-300, which can accommodate 440 passengers in a 3-3-3 cabin layout.
The Airbus A330-900 is exactly the same size as the Airbus A330-300 but consumes around 14 percent less kerosene thanks to its new generation engines and aerodynamic improvements made to the wing structure.
