Eva Air welcomes its first Dreamliner
North Charleston - EVA Air has received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in North Charleston. The Taiwanese international airline has leased the aircraft from the U.S. lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC.)
In 2015, EVA Air placed an order with ALC for 18 787-10, the longest variant of the Dreamliner family. The operator added four 787-9 and two more 787-10 to its order book via additional leasing contracts with ALC.
EVA Air becomes the first Taiwanese carrier to operate the Boeing 787 with this recent delivery. The aircraft will enter into service on the international routes from November.
Operator's long-haul fleet mainly consists of Boeing 777-300ERs (34 in service).
EVA Air will receive 23 more Dreamliners (twenty 787-10, three 787-9) in the coming years.
Based at Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, Taiwan, the Taiwanese airline flies to 40 international destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
EVA Air (Evergreen Airways) is a five-star airline rated by Skytrax and is the second largest airline in the country after the flag carrier China Airlines.
