Hong Kong - The Hong Kong-based leasing company CALC (China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited) has signed an agreement with Airbus for 50 A320neo, bringing the number of single-aisles to 202 that it has ordered from the European manufacturer up to now.

The fifty aircraft are deliverable until the 2023 year by year. The amount of the contract is valued $ 5.42 billion by CALC.

The portfolio of CALC has exceeded 100 aircraft during the year 2017. With this new acquisition, the company intends to expand this portfolio to consolidate its positions in the leasing market.

Currently, the majority of our fleet comes from direct purchases from aircraft manufacturers who will remain the main source of our new aircraft,
said Mike Poon, the CEO of CALC.

In June 2017, CALC also agreed with Boeing for a total of fifty 737 MAXs that are also deliverable until 2023.

The leasing company plans to order an additional 15 A320neo in January 2018, which is subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

Airbus ends 2017 on the heels of the A320neo family. On December 28, the aircraft manufacturer has confirmed an order from IndiGo Partners for 430 A320neo while another leasing company Irish AerCap has announced an order for 50 aircraft of the same type.
