Seattle - Boeing prepares to make the public debut of its new generation widebody aircraft, the Boeing 777X, next week.
The aircraft manufacturer has announced that it would roll out the first Boeing 777X aircraft produced for flight testing with a special ceremony on March 13.
Boeing will broadcast the event live from Renton. The manufacturer plans to perform the first flight test later this year before the aircraft enters service in 2020.
Boeing's 777X has so far accumulated 358 orders and order commitments from eight customers worldwide, including All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines.
The German flag carrier Lufthansa will be the first airline to receive and operate the aircraft.
The 777X is expected to revolutionize the airliner industry with its foldable wings.
