Bangkok - Bangkok Airways welcomed its latest ATR 72-600 with a special ceremony held at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Franco-Italian manufacturer's the 70-seater best-selling model is equipped with the most modern flight control systems in its class.
The aircraft was the last copy of thirteen ATR72-600 in the order book of the Asian carrier. Bangkok Airways will use its newest ATR to boost the routes from its Chiang Mai hub such as Chiang Mai–Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai–Yangon (Myanmar), Chiang Mai–Mandalay (Myanmar), Chiang Mai–Hanoi (Vietnam) and also the newly-launched-route Chiang Mai–Luang Prabang (Laos).
Bangkok Airways’ fleet currently consists of 41 aircraft, including four ATR 72-500, 12 ATR 72-600, 16 Airbus A319, and nine Airbus A320.
