ASL Aviation orders 20 Boeing 737-800BCF

Paris, France - Irish lessor and cargo operator ASL Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boeing for 20 Boeing 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter).

The deal, which was inked at the 2019 Paris Air Show includes firm orders for ten Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft and purchase rights for further ten units.

“Having operated two leased 737-800BCFs across our wide European network, we are very pleased with how the flexibility and reliability of these freighters fulfill our operational needs in meeting our customer requirements,” ASL Aviation CEO Hugh Flynn said.

“The aircraft is highly efficient and right-sized for our developing operations on behalf of our express cargo customers who are experiencing growing demand. The B737-800BCF will also give us access to new markets,” Flynn added.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, ASL Aviation Holdings offers its customers services such as aircraft leasing, charter flights, and freighter operations across Europe via its subsidiaries ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France, ASL Airlines Hungary, and ASL Airlines Switzerland.

The American aircraft manufacturer launched 737-800 passenger-to-freighter conversion program at the company's Shanghai facility in 2016 with 30 firm orders, 5 from GECAS, and 25 purchase commitments from several operators.
