Kiev - Ukraine's state-owned aircraft manufacturer Antonov plans to promote its next-generation 99-seat regional jet An-148/158 in the partnership with Cyprus-based leasing company Montag-Girmes.

During a conference with Ukrainian Airlines, Yuliy Kiselev, Vice President for Marketing and Sales at Antonov said that the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer reached an agreement of partnership with leasing company Montag-Girmes to support the promotion of An-148/158 aircraft under leasing contracts, including to the Ukrainian market.

Kiselev did not disclose the details of the agreement. Montag-Girmes had taken part in the sale of an An-158 aircraft to Cuba before.

Antonov President Oleksandr Donets stated that the manufacturer would increase the level of after-sales support of the aircraft in cooperation with U.S. Aviall.

"Our American partner, Aviall, will participate in the after-sales support of our aircraft through its logistics network," he said.

According to Antonov, the Ukrainian regional jet has competitive market characteristics, including fuel consumption and operating costs, compared to its Brazilian (Embraer) and Canadian (Bombardier) counterparts.

The list price ($32 million) of the An-148/158 is also15-25% lower than its competitors.
