Toulouse, France - Japanese airline All Nippon Airways has received its second Airbus A380 superjumbo, three weeks earlier than initially intended.
As the first superjumbo of the airline delivered in March, the second Airbus A380 of the Japanese carrier also features the Hawaiian sea turtle Honu on its livery, Emerald Green this time.
The aircraft was originally planned for delivery in June and enter into service in July. The early delivery will enable ANA to launch flights with the plane between Tokyo-Narita and Honolulu in June now.
“We are excited to welcome the second A380 into our world-class fleet of aircraft. With its visually distinct livery that evokes the folklore and traditions of Hawaii and the outstanding features of the A380, the beautiful Emerald Green Flying Honu lives up to the ANA standard of excellence. We are ready to welcome the plane to Narita Airport so that we can begin operations." ANA executive vice-president Yutaka Ito said.
The first Airbus A380 will begin flights between Tokyo Narita and Honolulu on May 24.
Honolulu is a popular destination among Japanese leisure travelers.
