Meanwhile, American Airlines operates 416 Airbus in their fleet, and 122 are waiting to be delivered in the coming years.

Since September 2015, Airbus has been mainly installing devices of type A321, but also A320, A319 and recently A320neo. In the middle of August, the first A320 took off from Alabama for the first flight. Over the next 20 years, Airbus is forecasting that more than 5900 new aircraft will be needed in North America.

In addition to American Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines, and Delta are the major customers of Airbus in the US market. The A320 family is Airbus's best-seller aircraft and also operates with carriers such as Allegiant Air, Frontier Airlines, Spirit, JetBlue and Virgin America.
