Airbus delivers 1000th A320neo family jet

Hamburg, Germany - Today, Airbus delivered the 1000th A320neo jet to the Indian low-cost operator IndiGo.

The aircraft is painted with a special print to draw attention to this memorable event.

The European aircraft manufacturer delivered the first A320neo jet to the launch customer Lufthansa only 3.5 years ago. Since then, Airbus has gradually increased the production rate of its best-selling aircraft.

Airbus's A320neo family jets have so far accumulated more than 5,600 orders. Thanks to its newer generation engines and improved aerodynamics, the A320neo consumes around 15 to 20 percent less kerosene than its predecessors.

India's largest airline Indigo is also the largest customer of the Airbus A320neo with 430 copies. Today, IndiGo took delivery of its 96th A320neo family jet.
