Mirabel - Airbus delivers the first A220-300 to Africa. With this delivery, Air Tanzania will become the launch customer of the type in the continent.

Air Tanzania has ordered two Airbus A220-300 in total, each configured to accommodate 127 passengers. The airline is the fifth operator of the Airbus A220 worldwide, after SWISS, AirBaltic, Korean Air and Delta Air Lines.

Air Tanzania is busy with a comprehensive fleet renewal. Earlier this year, the airline received a brand new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which is currently used for short domestic flights only. The company expects one more Boeing 787 Dreamliner next year.

To fill the gap in domestic connectivity, Air Tanzania has acquired three Dash 8-400. The state-owned company also has one Q-300.

Air Tanzania uses its turboprops on routes to Dar-es-Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Kigoma, Dodoma, Songea, Mtwara, Mwanza, Bukoba, and Mbeya domestically and Moroni International airport in Comoros regionally.
