Auckland - Air New Zealand will add seven Airbus A321neo to its fleet in addition to nine previously ordered aircraft of the same type.
The newly ordered aircraft are intended for busy domestic routes and will be delivered from 2020 to 2024. The first A321neo will join the Air New Zealand's fleet at the end of this year.
Air New Zealand also reports that it adds three additional Boeing 777 (two 777-200ERs and one -300ER) to the fleet on a lease basis to fill the gap caused by Boeing 787-9s with faulty engines.
The fleet expansion plan of the New Zealand airline was announced during the presentation of the fiscal year figures. The financial year 2017-2018 ended with a net profit of 360 million USD, the second best result in the company history.
