Air Lease Corporation delivers the first A321neo to Vietnam Airlines

Los Angeles - Earlier this week, Air Lease Corporation (ALC) announced the delivery of the first Airbus A321neo to Vietnam Airlines on a long-term lease.

The airline will take delivery of 11 Airbus A321neo more from the American lessor. The remaining A321neos will be delivered to the airline through 2019 directly from the order book of the ALC's with Airbus.

Vietnam Airline's A321neos are equipped with Pratt & Whitney's PW1130G engines. The airline will take delivery of more aircraft of the same type in the coming weeks.

The Vietnamese carrier already operates three Airbus A321neo leased from the Aviation Capital Group, which are configured to accommodate 203 passengers in a two-class setting - eight in Business Class, 195 in Economy. The upcoming longer variants of the A320neo family will probably get the same cabin configuration.

In addition to the 12 new Airbus A321neo, Vietnam Airlines will also take delivery of eight Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft from Air Lease Corporation from the third quarter of 2019 to 2021.
