Air Astana takes delivery of its second Embraer E190-E2

Almaty - Kazakh flag carrier Air Astana has taken delivery of the second Embraer E190-E2 jet out of five.

The new generation Embraer jet of the airline registered P4-KHB arrived at Astana International Airport after a long ferry flight from Sao Paulo. The aircraft is configured to accommodate 12 passengers in Business Class and 96 in Economy. The new regional jet of the Kazakh airline is expected to enter service on March 31 between Almaty and Uralsk.

Air Astana expects to take delivery of the other three E2 jets by the end of the year. They are intended to replace five of the nine previous generation E190 jets in the fleet.

Kazakh operator had taken delivery of the first Embraer E190 E2 on December 14, 2018 with the unforgettable snow leopard livery.

The national airline of Kazakhstan is modernizing its fleet with new generation airliners. The state-owned carrier currently operates, among others, an Airbus A320neo (four on order), three Airbus A321neo (15 on order including four A321LR). In 2021, the company will also begin to take delivery of three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on order.
