Aeroméxico flight crashes on takeoff
Mexico City - On July 31, Flight 2431, an Embraer E190 from Aeroméxico crashed during the takeoff from the Guadalupe Victoria airport in Durango. 85 people were injured, but there were no fatalities.
There were 97 passengers and four crew on board of the Aeroméxico's E190 and was bound for Mexico City.
The aircraft crashed because of an unknown reason about 10 kilometers away from the Durango airport at about 3:20 PM local.
Some passengers walked to a nearby highway to seek aid.
The weather conditions were poor, and there was heavy rain and hail when the E190 took off, officials said.
The pilot tried but failed to abort the takeoff, another report says.
