A Scoot Airbus A320 makes emergency landing at Chennai airport

Chennai, India - Today (May 20) an Airbus A320 from Scoot made an emergency landing at the Chennai Airport in India due to the spark spotted in the engine.

The aircraft was en route from Tiruchirapalli, India to Singapore when the incident happened.

The aircraft safely landed at the Chennai Airport. All 170 passengers were also safely disembarked, the airport officials said.

The passengers were offered accommodation in city hotels.

The pilots noticed the spark while the aircraft was still in the Indian airspace. The crew contacted the Chennai airport Immediately for an emergency landing.

Firefighters were ready on the runway when the plane landed. The maintenance teams are checking the aircraft.
