A Boeing 777 from Air China makes emergency landing at a remote airport in Russia

Anadyr - On March 5th, A Boeing 777 from Air China was forced to make an emergency landing due to the fire alarm at a remote region of the Russian Federation.

The Boeing 777 of Air China was on its way from Beijing to Los Angeles when the incident happened. Upon the fire alarm was triggered, the crew diverted to the nearest airport and carried out an emergency landing at Anadyr airport in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, a remote area in Siberia.

Passengers and the crew evacuated the plane via emergency slides. No injuries were reported.

According to a statement from the airline, the unexpected stopover in Anadyr was caused by a fire alarm in the cargo section.

But the checks following the emergency landing revealed that the alarm was false. Passengers and the crew went on their travel with a backup aircraft from Air China due to concerns over the original plane.
