Lufthansa Technik and China Airlines Cement Partnership with New Contract


FRANKFURT —Taiwan's renowned carrier, China Airlines, has embarked on a fresh collaborative endeavor by awarding Lufthansa Technik AG the responsibility of managing its Aircraft Transition Services. The new agreement spans three years and will oversee the seamless transition of 29 aircraft in the China Airlines fleet, including 12 Boeing 737-800s and 17 Airbus A330s.

Transitioning Aircraft across Asia-Pacific


The joint project is set to unfold across multiple locations within the Asia-Pacific region. Lufthansa Technik, with an impressive portfolio of over 400 global aircraft transition projects, brings its wealth of expertise to the table. Their comprehensive Aircraft Transition Services are tailored to simplify the intricate procedure for operators. From the outset, with the initial assessment of the aircraft to the culmination at the lease return, Lufthansa Technik offers unwavering support at every juncture.

Jason Tsai, the Vice President of Engineering Division Operations at China Airlines, emphasized the complexity of transitioning aircraft from 11 distinct leasing entities. "It's imperative to ally with a dependable partner well-versed in the intricacies of the domain. Our past collaborations have cemented our confidence in Lufthansa Technik's capabilities," he remarked.

A History of Partnership 


The rapport between China Airlines and Lufthansa Technik is not newfound. The duo has been collaboratively navigating the aviation landscape for several years. They rekindled their partnership in 2022 by extending their Total Component Support (TCS) contract for a minimum of six more years.

Frank Martens, Senior Director Sales and Customer Development, Digital Fleet Services at Lufthansa Technik, expressed gratitude towards China Airlines for their continued trust.
