Sun Country passenger evades police, jumps off wing in late-night MSP Airport drama

An unexpected incident unfolded late Sunday night at Terminal 2 of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) airport when a passenger from a Sun Country flight originating from Orlando breached the emergency hatch, leapt off the wing, and dashed across the tarmac, as confirmed by airport officials.

The flight landed shortly after 11 p.m. and MSP Airport Police were poised at the gate to apprehend the suspect. However, the suspect outmaneuvered the police by promptly opening the emergency hatch, stepping onto the wing, and sprinting towards the terminal. Approximately 45 minutes later, the authorities found the suspect concealed in an LSG Sky Chef truck.

The 44-year-old suspect, accused of violating a no-contact order, was subsequently detained by the MSP Airport Police.

Sun Country confirmed that the passenger was seated in the exit row and evacuated the aircraft.

Sun Country expressed its serious concern over such incidents. The airline company lauded the swift response of the airport police and assured, "Fortunately, passengers and crew are fine."
