This marks the first single-aisle airliner delivery for Air India since its acquisition by Tata Group.
To enhance its domestic and international services, Air India has committed to ordering 250 Airbus aircraft, comprising 140 A320neos, 70 A321neos, 34 A350-1000s, and six A350-900s.
Campbell Wilson, CEO, and MD of Air India highlighted the importance of these new aircraft for Air India's transformation and growth strategy.
The A321neo, the largest member of Airbus' popular single-aisle A320 Family, can seat 180-220 passengers in a typical two-class configuration or up to 244 in a high-density arrangement. The A320neo can accommodate 140-170 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 180 travelers.
