SANTIAGO, CHILE — Santiago-based Chilean carrier LATAM Airlines has agreed with the American lessor Air Lease Corporation for a long-term lease of five new long-range Airbus A321-200 XLR. The aircraft are scheduled to join the airline's fleet from the fall of 2025 through 2026. The planes will be delivered from ALC’s order book with Airbus.
ALC will the first to introduce Airbus' new-generation long-range narrowbody to LATAM Airlines.
"We are pleased to announce this lease placement for five new long-range Airbus A321-200 XLRs with our airline customer based in Chile, LATAM Airlines, and be the first to introduce the XLR to the airline," said Steven Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation.
LATAM is the largest South American carrier with bases across the region. The order is part of the airline's LATAM fleet modernization program to add the most advanced technological aircraft to enhance efficiency and passenger experience. These five new ALC A321XLR jets will optimize and grow the airline’s expanding international route network.
