JAKARTA, INDONESIAIndonesia's regional cargo operator Rimbun Air is planning to increase the number of Boeing 737 freighters in its fleet from the current two, to five by the end of 2022.

The carrier currently operates only one Boeing 737F with registration PK-OTK (MSN 26288). The aircraft, which became Rimbun Air's first dedicated freighter in 2021, is previously operated by China Postal Airlines

The airline has acquired its second B737F registered B-2661 (MSN 26284) this year. The aircraft was ferried to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta on January 20, 2022, but has yet to be deployed on the airline's routes in the coming weeks.

Rimbun Air aims to add a further three freighters by the end of this year and is in talks with several leasing companies, including B737-800 converted freighters.

Rimbun Air launched in 2018 as a regional STOL passenger charter operator. It also operates two DHC-6-400s to remote Indonesian destinations.
