HONOLULU, HAWAI —
Hawaiian Airlines delays the delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jet to the second half of 2023. It is the second delay from Hawaiian for the type, which was initially expected to join the airline's fleet in 2021 and then in the third quarter of this year.
“Our two 787s that were scheduled to be delivered in 2022 are delayed, and we now expect to receive them no earlier than the first half of 2023," Hawaiian Airlines CEO Peter Ingram said during the presentation of the company's 2021 financial results.
Hawaiian has ten Boeing 787-9 jets on order.
