Cathay Pacific sends its pilots to Los Angeles to avoid strict quarantine rules

HONG KONG — Cathay Pacific has announced that it temporarily sends its Boeing 777 pilots to Los Angeles International from January 2022 to bypass strict quarantine rules imposed on aircrews in Hong Kong.

The carrier will trial extended roster patterns (TERPs) next month demanding some pilots to resettle in Los Angeles for at least four to five months.

The pilots would fly "cargo-only-passenger flights" on the Los Angeles route as a trial only and it is subject to change or cancellation the airline said.
