The American low-cost specialist unveiled the "Freedom One" livery on June 18, on one of its Boeing 737-800s at the Houston-William P. Hobby airport. The painting features 50 stars and 13 red and white stripes, a high-flying tribute to 50 years of Southwest Airlines.
Southwest Airlines made its first flight on June 18, 1971 , at a time when less than 15% of Americans had ever traveled by air.
Introducing, #FreedomOne, a high-flying tribute to our nation, military, and our Employees. We’re proud to celebrate our 50th Anniversary today and look to the next 50 years of giving America the freedom to fly. #Southwest50 pic.twitter.com/jWKInKbikl
